How to Make Your Glitter Lip Last
Our lovely Beauty Smartie Maria Gomez is back again with another life-changing tutorial! This time around, she's creating a red glitter lip, inspired by celebrity makeup artist Pat Mcgrath and Taylor Swift's iconic look from her "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" music video with Zayn Malik.
Before getting started, you'll need a lip exfoliator, lip balm, a red lip liner, glitter glue, cosmetic grade glitter, and of course, your favorite red lipstick. Then, bam! You can throw yourself a glitter party.
Now don't worry, this look won't come off! If you follow Maria's steps, your sparkly pout will last all day long. You can watch the video above, and use the directions below for more help.
Use your lip exfoliator and a little bit of lip balm to prep your lips.
2. Build the color.
Before jumping into the glitter and all that fun stuff, start by lining your lips, using your natural lip line as a guide. And don't forget to shade in your lips, as well.
3. Apply your red lipstick.
Grab your favorite red liquid lipstick and fill in your lips. Maria's favorite is "Always Red" by Sephora.
4. Transfer the glitter.
Instead of taking the glitter straight from the container, deposit the glitter into a lid for better access.
5. Apply the glitter glue.
Put a dot size of glitter glue onto your lips, making sure to work in small sections so that the glue stays tacky. Then, use a clean finger to put the glitter directly on top of the glue.
6. Clean your face.
Make sure to brush off any stray glitter from your face with a makeup brush.
